Sal Valentino -
Every Now and Then

(Dig 130)

Sal Valentino
is truly a living legend.  Famed lead singer of The Beau Brummels and manic front man for the 70’s psychedelic-funk-rock-full-stage-extravaganza, Stoneground, Sal continues to share his gift with the world.  “Every Now And Then” features Sal doing what he does best, interpreting songs and stories that can only be delivered (by what has been referred to by rock historians, as) “the most underrated voice in Rock and Roll history.  As a nod to the past, Valentino covers The Beau Brummels biggest hit  “Laugh, Laugh” evoking memories of the innocence of early 60’s rock and roll without the slightest bit of regret that time has moved on.   “Every Now And Then” is a musical road map of life featuring heart-wrenching songs like Jackie Greene’s title tune, to the jangly rock guitar-drenched “What The World Needs” to the bouncy duet with Chris Webster, “Just Like You”.   “Every Now And Then” is a new piece of history, a road map of the long and twisted back-roads of rock that lead us to today.

Stoneground -
The Last Dance

(Dig 103)

No band was ever like this! Eleven musicians that got every crowd to its feet. The DIG Music release is the last night the full group played together.
The very last performance of the original 11-piece Stoneground band was amazing. The set includes a turn at the mic by all four ladies, screaming guitar from Tim Barnes, and several Sal Valentino performances including a breathtaking 10 minute medley of Dylan and Hardin. Cover by Randy Tuten

Positively 12th & K: A Bob Dylan Tribute
Jackie Greene, Sal Valentino and friends
(Dig 109)

Jackie Greene, Sal Valentino, Mick Martin, Steve Price, Lew Fratis, Sherman Baker and Billy Harper Jr. got together at Marilyn's at the corner of 12th and K in Sacramento for two nights of celebrating the music of America's premiere songwriter. Turns out, these guys all loved Dylan's work so much that each of them brought new life to the 13 songs featured here. And, this is the first release by Sal Valentino of the Beau Brummels (Laugh, Laugh) and Stoneground in nearly 30 years!
